ABOUT ABIGAIL

Abigail Caywood is a costume and scenic designer, costume supervisor, costume maker and wardrobe manager. Originally from San Diego, California, she is now based in London, where she has worked with internationally renowned companies including Punchdrunk, Chichester Festival Theatre, and BalletBoyz. In the United States, she has worked at prominent regional theatres including The Old Globe Theatre, The La Jolla Playhouse, and Pasadena Playhouse. She received a First Class Honours with Distinction MFA in Scenography from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and a BA in Drama with Honours in Costume Design from The University of California, Irvine.

Abigail was a semi-finalist for the National Theatre's 2021 Linbury Prize for Stage Design. She is the recipient of a Global Talent Visa, for which she was endorsed by Arts Council England.

WARDROBE MANAGEMENT & RUNNING:

Abigail was part of the original costume design team for Punchdrunk's The Burnt City (One Cartridge Place, London). She joined the team as a Costume Design Assistant in 2021, then became a Wardrobe Assistant, then Deputy Head of Wardrobe. She also made costumes for the production throughout its run.
